As a Project Manager at 2U Cape Town your role will revolve largely around communication, planning and problem solving. You will work closely with team members from almost every division within the organisation including members from our Learning Design, Programme Management, Planning, Finance, Creative Studios, Academic Staff and Marketing teams.
You will be responsible for leading our development teams to deliver our educational products on time, within scope and within budget through daily management of timelines, creative problem solving and stakeholder management.
A typical day will include leading a number of project meetings, communicating with stakeholders through a variety of mediums, updating status reports and project plans and taking part in the general gees! You may also be required to manage a Project Coordinator, and contribute to their growth and development within the team.
Key Role and Responsibilities:
Manage detailed daily communication with internal and external project stakeholders. You should be comfortable dealing with senior executives as well as a diverse range of personalities and nationalities.
Lead, manage and motivate our development teams as they work to create both local and international online education courses.
Design project plans and work breakdown structures.
Draft and update project documents including budgets, project charters, project plans, communications plans and resource reports.
Run DSUs (Daily Stand Ups) and weekly status meetings with project teams in order to measure and track project progress.
Creative problem-solving, scenario planning and change management.
Should you have a Project Coordinator reporting into you, you will be required to coach and manage a Project Coordinator through weekly one-on-ones and daily supervision of work.
Manage deliverables and timelines with the subject matter expert and university convenors to ensure alignment with project timelines.
Work closely with university stakeholders to build strong, collaborative relationships that aid in solidifying our partnerships.
Process Improvement and Collaboration
Contribute to the overall success and growth of the project management team through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Collaborate with team members from multiple functions to refine processes.
Education and Experience:
An undergraduate qualification with 3+ years work experience - experience in project management is beneficial, but not absolutely necessary.
Good numerical skills as you will be working with budgets.
Computer literacy. Proficiency in Google Apps, Smartsheets or Asana is a bonus.
Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Confidence in playing a leadership role with project teams.
Attention to the right detail.
Ability to organise yourself, prioritize your workload, delegate when necessary and keep calm under pressure.
Strong creative problem-solving and decision making abilities.

International travel experience, which will be beneficial when booking travel and (when needed) supporting your team during a trip.
